PI's I2C's and a 1602 display, oh my ;)

First attempt at using WiringPi (link)

  1. Required Tools
    1. Git
      apt-get install git-core
    2. GCC Compiler & Make
      apt-get install gcc make
  2. Installing WiringPi
    1. git clone git://
      Obtain wiringPi via Git
    2. cd wiringPi
      Building WiringPi
  3. Verify wiringPi was built
    1. gpio -v
    2. gpio readall
apt-get install i2c-tools
i2cdetect -y 1

sudo apt-get install libi2c-dev
I2C=Y make

git clone

I have tried these, and will continue in part 2.
